Arcanos thrives because there is balance. A king is no more important to the functionality of his kingdom than the farmer who brings in crops. The wheel turns, the axle combines, the cart carries, the horse pulls. Everything has its purpose and place. Too much of anything can be just as bad as too little of another.
Across the lands people celebrate this balance. It takes place during the third luna of the year during the spring equinox when Terra's central equator is in line with the Sola. This also happens in the fall, however, the celebration of balance is only during the spring.
There are a few traditions during the equinox, one which occurs over the entire cycle, another that takes place during the final week. The first is the practice of working towards balance in one's personal life, home, and family. Cleaning out unnecessary frivolities, taking inventory of what is needed, forgiving old friends, making new friends, and other such matters of finding balance in one's life. The other practice is that people often switch up roles with someone in a completely different function. Men might tend motherly duties, while women tend to fatherly ones. A foremen might dig the trench, while his crew manages. A king might plow the field, while the farmer tends to court. These are done typically with humor, and never to the point of disreputable failure. Walking a while in another shoes if you will, helps one appreciate their own life and those of others.
