"Halfling blooded humans typically fall into two different, yet similar lifestyles. They are either wanderers, nomads of the plains, or they are hearth keepers, owners of inns, taverns and other merrymaking establishments. One might think these are drastically different and not at all similar lifestyles, but if one were to know what drives all halfling blooded humans, then it would make sense.
Family...to one with halfling blood running in their veins family is the all important ideal. For it is family that stays with you in thick and thin, it is family that understands you better than any, and it is family that will remember you after you are gone.
For the nomadic families, this is an easy concept, you travel with your family. Your family travels with other families, creating a larger "family". It is within those larger families that friendships and lovers are often made. As a nomadic halfling blooded human, your family are your only constants, those you visit in towns and see once or twice a year or just passing through your life, but your family is always there.
For those that settle down their family is quite different. It may not be family related by blood, although usually a few are, but it is a family developed over time through trust and loyalty. Many a would be thief were caught unaware thinking they could rob the little halfling blooded innkeep, only to find out her family extended beyond those walls, through her clientele and patrons. The halfling blooded humans that settle down take no greater pride than having the largest feasts, greatest bards, and rowdiest parties for all to enjoy, that will create stories (and customers) for years to come.
This isn't to say all halfling blooded humans are trustworthy, loyal, helpful, and friendly, for there are always outliers, but one thing is always safe to assume, if you play one false, you better watch your back for the dozen you didn't know existed..."
