Ironbeaks are a type of owl known for their large size and incredibly strong beaks. Their beaks and plumage have a light to dark gray color. They are about the size of a medium dog, and tend to eat enough to render themselves flightless. Their love of eating often gets in the way of breeding. Given this, over time they've adapted to only lay eggs during the spring time. Ironbeak eggs are thus considered a delicacy. They don't necessarily taste all that different than a standard chicken egg, just better somehow. Lastly, Ironbeaks emit a sub-sonic hoot that can't be heard by any humanbloods. However, it is a strong hoot and those in close proximity can feel the vibrations.
