Much like the lands and its inhabitants, there are extremes with regards to religion. In the simplest means of description, there are three divisions of religions; Atheism, Low Beliefs, and High Beliefs. None are more intelligent, accurate, or better than the other (granted a strong believer in one might disagree). Below is a brief understanding of each aspect.
Atheism:
This one is pretty self-explanatory. Those that share this view on reality believe that events occur in and of themselves. Nature and Magic work together to form all that is found in Arcanos. Nothing shapes the land and its inhabitants outside of those two basic concepts.
Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities. In a narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities. Most inclusively, atheism is the absence of belief that any deities exist. - Wikipedia
Low Beliefs:
Most of the inhabitants believe in some aspect of divine involvement. The world is a magical place, and at times, it seems as though something has an influence on that magic. Not everyone subscribes to a rigorous identity for the divine, but that doesn't mean they dismiss it.
Often these beliefs manifest themselves in common forms. Death and the end of things might be represented by darkness or the color black. Healing and renewal are easily associated with light and the sun.
High Beliefs:
Select few adhere to firm standings on divine beings. They follow rules, doctrine governs there beliefs, and there is often a hierarchy to there orders. These religions are often represented by a church or cult. No single church is chief over another. While some might have more open or numerous followers, they are usually independent.
Typically a church focuses on a single aspect of the Low Beliefs and shapes it into a more concrete concept. Using an example from above. A church might exist in reverence to The Reaper; a dark, shadowy figure who comes at the end of things such as life or the harvest.
Atheism:
