Spring has Sprung! The town of Yoleven is bustling with activity. Farmers are in full swing, shopkeeps are changing out their stores, and every home is busy with spring cleaning. The townsfolk are a buzz preparing for the Festival of Balance equinox week, making arrangements, with the clever folks leaving the hardest work for the end of the month. The winter was unusually harsh, and as such there weren't many folks traveling through the centralized town the last few months. Now the ice has thawed, snow melted, and the roads are rising to meet travelers. The Black Mariah is a swarm of newcomers. Folks have been impatiently waiting thru blizzards waiting to hear news from the corners of Arcanos. One the final day of the second span of the Festival of Balance as the sola breaks the treeline, a eclectic party of adventurers make their way into town.
{Spoiler}The party consist of four adventurers. An elf-blooded druid, a true-human wizard, a dragon-born cleric, and a halfling-blooded warlock. They travel by unusual means in a vessel fitting their trade.

" What a glorious omen! We shall be entering the town just as the glorious light and warmth from Sola breaches the horizon. Our path is clearly laid before us, I sense nothing but bright times for us here in...what town are we going to again?" The halfling-blooded human looks around at her strange, acquaintances...no companions, and hopes one of them knows where they are going. She glances forward at the town they were approaching, not concerned as much as to whether there are guards, or other travelers, but instead focusing on where shadows could be congregating, plotting their evil takeover of the world...
Lucy shakes her head trying to lift herself out of the faze she was in, "Yes Lumi, of course you are right. The shadows aren't actively trying to takeover the world, well not all of them anyway. But it is my duty, my responsibility, my privilege to show these townsfolk The Light and to banish whatever shadows I can from their home!" Lucy looks up at the glowing ball of light above her head as she gives her speech. To those with her, this is while odd behavior is normal for Lucy.
She turns to those with her, in a very chipper manner "I feel so much better after seeing Sola once again, don't you all agree this is a clear sign, we must be meant to stop here for some reason. I hope we will be illuminated as to why soon, the waiting is the hardest part. Oooh I'm just radiating with excitement!"
Lucy's head is bobbing back and forth with excitement as she awaits their arrival.
Hopefully someone will respond. Also is the color too hard too read?

Jarke looks down at his small, chipper companion. "My fair companion, I think the clearer sign is that one" as the tall but surprisingly articulate dragonborn points to a visitors welcome sign at what is clearly a bar. "Can't think of a better place to go stir up some local gossip. More likely than not, there's probably someone with a job, and if not, I'm sure there's a flagon of something that could wet our collective whistles."

"Man, there are a lot of people here, its hard to keep track of them all, and so many smells. I will agree with the tall one, I could do with a proper meal, it has been a while since I have had some proper food. Hopefully it will be a little quieter inside." was Cade's reply to his companions, obviously unnerved by the amount of people gathered in one place.

'I have been here before,' says the tall true-human wizard Alain, in a cautious nigh-whisper. He gathers his cloak about him, the color of starless night. 'About a decade past, I think.'

'Ah yes, the Black Mariah! That is the inn in which we should stay, there may be business, and information within. Amazingly, the ownership has not changed hands since last I stopped here!'

A small brown haired, freckled lad is approaching the inn from the opposite direction. It's tough to tell if he is a child or has a bit of halfling blood in him. He whistles a bright tune and carries a basket in both hands, one stuffed with egg, the other with wrapped cheeses.
Mornin'! Frost finally cleared huh? Yup, getting us some out-o-townas. Stayin at tha Black Mariah I take it?! I'm just droppin' off some fresh supplies from tha farm. Say, is Pearl up yet?!

Alain the Black Wizard, (who looks exactly like the photo on the left) not wanting to disrespect the person before him whose nature he cannot quite grasp, looks expectantly over at Lucy.

Lucy looked at the lad and decided he was a good lad, there was just something about him that she liked. Lucy climbs out of their "carriage" and stretches out her hand for the stranger to shake, "Name's Lucy Lightbringer, I don't know who Pearl is, but if she isn't up she is missing a most beautiful Sola rise. You are quite perceptive, we are from out of town, what gave us away, the radiant ball of light above my head, the large green Jarke, or perhaps the giant beetle we ride around inside? What supplies are you bringing in? Some of my companions were just commiserating over their hunger and thirst, perhaps you can suggest something for us? Alain has been here before, but it has been some time."
She motions for her companions to join her. "Hmm, Lumi just brought up a good point, is there someplace we can stable our ride?"

I don't have a clue where ya'd store somethin like that! Just keep it away from ma farm, thing looks like it could eat my field of crops in a day! Anywho, I'm bring in eggs n cheese. Zimmy makes a mean omelette, ya definitely wanna come in and try it.
He heads inside the Black Mariah. You notice you and your cart are catching a few stares, nothing threatening, more just curiosity.

"As a general rule, I don't turn down omelettes, much less famous ones. I wonder what animal those eggs are from..." Jarke trails off as he heads inside

"Yummm, eggs are good, especially chicken eggs, those are best. Also chickens, those taste good too. Do you guys have a chicken omelette?" Cade asked excitedly, the prospect of eggs and chicken over-riding his discomfort of being around so many people.

Lucy noticing the curious onlookers decides it is a perfect time to introduce some strangers to The Light. Upon some of her companions entering the tavern, that seals the deal...Jarke can't interrupt her with his Jarek ramblings when he is busy stuffing his face inside!
She hops up onto the cartbeetle and begins to evangelize "Brothers and Sister of The Light today is a glorious day. For it is on this day that I, Lucy, shall bring you The Light!" And as she says this she touches the cartbeetle and it begins to glow, as if alight! "You need not fear the shadows plaguing you at night. You need not hide from the darkness as if you were a suckling babe. No instead The Light shall protect you!"
"What is she rambling on about?" inquires an elderly gentleman walking past.
"I'm glad you asked fine sir! The Light is that essence you can feel but not describe that brightens your day. Perhaps for you it is feeding the ducks, or yelling at small children playing in the street. But The Light is so much more as well. It banishes shadows, not creates them, It clears our minds, not clouds them. The Light leads us all to brighter days!"
Lucy hopes off the beetle and shouts for Lumi to follow her, "Come Lumi Sola is rising, we must protect our friends and keep the shadows away from this Black Mariah place they entered!"
Lucy starts walking the perimeter of the inn, casting light on any shadowed wall.

Alain, still on the cartbeetle, and having been sitting there awkwardly cloaked in shadow during Lucy's speech, decides that now would be a good time to find Johnny (that's the cartbeetle) a place to rest, and so guides it over to a nearby field, and ties it to a post. The cartbeetle begins nibbling idly at the surrounding grass, as Alain heads into the Black Mariah.

Entering you The Black Mariah you see several patrons scattered about the room. While it's not bustling with activity typical in the peak of summer, there is a decent crowd; new travelers for sure, and a few locals. The lad you saw carrying in supplies is at the bar talking with the fattest orc blooded human you've ever seen. He dwarfs the lad as he steps around from behind the bar and takes the supplies and heads into the kitchen. Not before taking out a brick of cheese and taking a chunk for himself.
Mmmmm, kobalt....de stinkier de better. Have thee Ironbeaks started layin yet or I'm I steall cook'n wit chickun?
The lad hops on on a stool reaching over the counter pulling out a pewter mug.
Still chickens I'm afraid, hopefully next week! Hey Zimmy, mind if I pour myself a dwarfbeard?
Make it da lager. And just one Daneyo. Don't need ye piss drunk stumblin back te ye motheer.
The large orcblood pushes through swinging door into the kitchen. Daneyo hops the bar and walks up to a cask clearly labeled Dwarfbeard Extra-Stout. He pours a thick black liquid into the mug. Looks at you all and with a wink takes a long swig.
Ya'll need a drink?
