" I have not had the pleasure of walking those woods personally, but I do have an affinity for the wilds. I might be able to help out with your task. Are you staying at this Inn, if I wanted to contact you for further information about the job?", Cade responds to the stranger, not wanted to commit to anything with out talking with his companions.

To Fox
Name is Dareul. I'm going to be in town for a at least a span. Hoping to catch a lot of adventuring type folk traveling through. Let me know if you're interested before I leave town, I'll be around.
Everyone sort of mingles about, trading stories, drinking, eating, playing a few cards games, and whatever. (Feel free to roleplay this time out if you want).
A few hours later, a real yokel looking fellow comes walking into The Black Mariah. He has on overalls, nearly sole-less boots, and a straw hat. A bit of hay hangs from his lip. He walks up to the bar with a grin that threatens to rip his cheeks wide across his face. He slaps down a few Terras on the bar and orders up a drink.
Heuh. Heuh. Heuh. Hh-Well if it ain't Pee-earl, my per-son-al a-ssis-taunt. Hh0Why don't ya fetch me a swig of swill darlin' I
Pearl glares at him as she fetches a wooden mug.
Equinox starts tomorrow Fil.
Oh....I know...I know. And hh-well.....hh-wouldn't ya just know it....the hh-well dun run dry. Yeee-uuup. Gonna need a new hh-one dug up tommara. Best get ta bed early darlin'
Pearl hands him his cup with a menacing glower. Fil can't seem to keep the grin off his face as he gulps down his drink.
Tsss-aaaah. Hh-well...see ya in da mornin Pearl.
Fil saunters out of the Tavern quite amused by himself. Pearl grabs his mug and rinses it out and then wipes it dry about 20 times longer than needed.

"Tomorrow is the equinox? Oh what a day of celebration. The spring equinox signals Light's triumph over darkness! A day of celebration indeed! But Madam Pearl why was this man so eager about a dry well, that sounds like a troubling thing, and why are you involved, do you own the land he works on?"

He seems like the sort of person who requires proper sorting out. Alain is disinterestedly nursing his ale.

Jarke decides he's had enough of this group. He tosses all his winnings back on the table (if he has any of course) and wishes the men luck. He heads back to the bar and pulls up a stool next to Alain and signals for another drink. Jarke says in a matter-of-fact tone, "Well, sounds like there's mercenary work about if we're interested"

Pearl pours herself another coffee and adds a shot of a potent smelling liquor.
Fil's harmless. An idiot, but harmless. I ran a game of chance for all the towns folk for this year's equinox. The winner got to run things here for a week, while I did whatever they normally do. Fil won it....like I said, all chance, no skill. He's the caretaker for the town if you will. Fixes things, make sure things that might not necessarily belong to anyone in particular are cared for. He pretty much does a decent job of it, if you're okay with shit work at a lazy pace. But no one else wants to do it, so everyone has just accepted him for who he is.
She takes a long zip of her hard coffee and sorta closes her eyes, enjoying its warmth and bite. After a moment she opens them and continues.
Anyways. I guess I'll be digging a well all week while he's in here eating and drinking for free. Like I said, place nearly runs itself and my full-time cooks will keep on eye on him.
Exchanging stories and such with Pearl and others, you've actually passed enough time that you're hungry again. Zim serves a lunch of Nugle Nut butter and rengo berry jam sandwiches with fruit on the side. For such a simple meal, it's quite tasty.
So, where are you all from exactly. Any chance you brought some treats from there?
As you converse with Pearl and others, people enter and leave the Tavern.
Everyone make spot checks.

"I'm from all over and no I didn't bring any treats unfortunately. But my auntie made the most amazing nut bread it was simply astounding. People would offer well more than it was worth in trade for a loaf of it!"Lucy seems to lose herself in her remembrance of the delicious family made nut bread.

Oh, I have no culinary skill myself. I hail from the city of Eff, in the Land of Mog. And since leaving there, I have devoted no time to cooking.
{Spoiler} Perception role is 12.

"Like Lucy, I have been traveling for a most of my life. For a while I had an group I spend time with, but they turned out to be backstabbing cowards. But I would say I am mostly from the wilderness, at least until I met up with Lucy and started traveling with her. Sadly no, I have no treats, but I'm sure I could go find some nice mushrooms or herbs nearby." {Spoiler} Cade gets a 7 perception

As Stated, several folks come and go as you goes hang out in The Black Mariah. Unless you're staring straight down into your ale, you can notice anyone coming and going. About an hour after lunch a stunningly beautiful female walks in and sits at the far end of the bar. She orders a glass of wine. Alain, you noticed that Pearl seems impressed with such a unique selection and is excited that she has it in stock. A few moments later, a ruggedly handsome man enters the Tavern, looks about, then goes up to the men that Jarke was playing cards with earlier. He gets in on their current game. Jarke, you notice two things interesting about his entrance. One, he casually makes eye contact with blonde haired woman who just entered. Was it simply checking her out, or was there a hint of recognition there? Two, when he pulls a few coins from his purse, you notice a brilliant looking dagger tucked nearly out of sight into his belt. Its grip has a purple tint to the material and there is a deep emerald colored juncture at the hilt. After a few hands, the Mercenaries at the table seem to get a bit riled up. Bah, ain't nobody that lucky. You gotta be cheating!

After no party members are able to present a treat for Pearl, she frowns.
Well...that's dissapointing. Next time you swing through, be sure to bring me something, if you don't mind.

Jarke awakes from his stupor, he was daydreaming of how he spent 2 horrible weeks traveling through the land of Mid-Zori while making his way to here from the Southeast Islands from his home.
"Pearl, my humblest apologies, I am sorry I didn't do more to introduce myself. My name is Jarkodon and I'm a Dragonborn prophet of the great Ja'Rek. I can't say I specifically came with a gift for you, but I always like to keep some of the crystal sand from my home island to remind me of my humble beginnings. You are welcome to a small sample if it would please you." Jarke grabs a pouch from his belt to show Pearl some of the crystal sand he spoke of. "It's not particularly valuable as it's just impure, broken down quartz crystal sand, but I don't know of anyplace else in the world it is found."

Mike, I would like to detect magic on that dagger if possible while he's at the table as the dagger seemed so interesting. I do have it prepared.
If not, can I do some kind of roll to see if I am familiar with either that dagger specifically or the gems that compose it? Perhaps the style comes from a certain religion, race, or region (the 3 Rs)]
