Lucy...Lumi is very reluctant to enter the water. Lumi expresses danger to you in the well. As you cast light on yourself, you think you can see something glittering at the bottom of the water, but you don't quite have enough light to see, plus the refraction from the water.
However, searching in and around the well, you don't see any blood, but can clearly make out where Pearl scrambled back out of it. She, or someone, must have gone down into the water and back out.
Jarke and Fox are able to get some good information out of Pearl.
I was just starting the initial diggin in the well, when suddenly, the ground broke lose underneath me and I was swept into a ....cavern like room filled with water. Luckily, I had tied a rope off, and I used it to pull myself out. I certainly had swallowed a lot of water, and even with the rope, I barely managed to get out. Everything was a blur. I stumbled back towards the Black mariah....then I don't remember.
Now I'm a damn spider!
I have been the propietor of a gambling den for a decade. Plenty of blackmail and threats. You learn to live with it.
Fil....I don't trust him because he is an idiot...and I think he's not a good man

"Now it looks like we have 2 avenues available already, I think Lucy or Alain was checking out that well so hopefully we can get some more information when they get back.
As for Fil, perhaps we can put the fear of Jarek in him. I would be surprised if he's not involved in some way as he's the one who got you to go out there. Maybe he's behind this, but I don't think he has the backbone to do this himself, perhaps someone paid him to make sure Pearl gets in that well? I'd prefer not to wait too long or else he may get wise. I think we've got to act on this while the trail is still warm. Pearl what's your thought on us bringing Fil up here and intimidating the hell out of him?"

Lumi...full power!!!!
Lucy tries to get a better look with Lumi providing light equivalent to day. If she can't make out what is glistening at the bottom, or any other new relevant information, then Lucy will make sure her rope is secure, take a deep breath and dive on in....

Pearl enthusiastically agrees with "talking" to Fil. However, she doesn't want to frighten the patrons.
How about you bring him up here. He's an idiot...tell him...there are some folks that come in soon that like my really special and expensive liquor, and he'll need me to explain to him where to find it. But, that I can't get out of bed.
Lucy: Super-Sayan Lumi reveals a yellowish golden object down in the water. Also, it appears there is a room down below.
Curiosity getting to you, you dive into the water and swim down. At first a strong current pushes you to the side, but you swim past it, into the room. Lumi follows behind (Lumi goes where Lucy goes!). It looks like a long lost stone room in an ancient temple. You see a bunch of faded carvings in the stone, but the glittering object is a gold and citrine scarab artifact, that seems to be the focal point of the room. Lumi's light seems to cause it to glitter and glow, more than it should.

Jarke exits to find Fil. Luckily for him he's doing what he does best, taking swigs from a hidden flask from under the bar. "Fil, Pearl wants to talk to you. Something about a new premium liquor she got, wants you to come up and talk to her."If he agrees, Jarke follows Fil upstairs. Once Fil enters the room, Jarke closes the door behind him trying not to draw attention to it.
"Pearl's under the covers, I believe she would like to talk to you about the well you sent her to today."
Jarke makes sure to keep himself between Fil and the door. {Persuasion Spoiler}

Lucy resurfaces. And asks Little Lucy to go back to the Black Mariah and get Fox, Jarke or Alain. Lucy takes an empty bag, or empties her backpack if necessary. She gathers another big breath and heads down below, attempting to scoop up the scarab object in the bag. Knowing a little about magic she will look at the inscriptions on the wall, but will not speak anything a loud. {Spoiler}

Fil seems blindly excited about this premium liquor you mention and heads right into the room.
Neow, I just heuh knew, yous was hidin da geud stuff fram may Pearl...huwhere is you at?
As soon as you close the door, Pearl skitters out from under the covers, front legs swinging at Fil's legs, taking him out. He lands on his head and attempts to get up, but Pearl steps on his chest, biting at his face, in mock aggression.
Gah!!!!
Lucy, you are able to grab the scarab object, but you immediately feel strange upon touching it. It's tough to pinpoint the feeling, as you are underwater, running low on air, but you definitely know its from touching the object. The feeling fades, but doesn't disappear, when you place it in your bag.
As your lungs begin to burn, you look around the room, and notice doors on either side. The writing is completely foreign to you.

Jarek intervenes "Fil, as you can see, Pearl's not too keen on you right now. As far as I see it, there's one of two likely things that happened.
1) Lorah and Donnie paid you to send Pearl to that well where she would be cursed
or
2) Someone else with something against Pearl used the altercation with Donnie and Lorah to have you set her up so we'd blame those two.
Either way, you sent Pearl to that exact spot, and I have a hard time believing it was coincidence. So, if you tell us who told you what and when, Pearl might not eat you. And just to make sure you're telling the truth..."Jarke rubs his ring and casts Zone of Truth under Fil. {Spoiler}
Jarke centers the 25 ft zone behind Fil so Jarke can hopefully avoid being in the area of truth, just in case. If he needs to step into it, I'd like it to only be a foot or two in front of him. |

If Lucy thinks she has enough air to attempt it, she will try to go through the door on her right. If not she will resurface, gather air, then dive back down to attempt. If the Right door doesn't open, she will try the left. If neither opens she will resurface to think and try again...

Swimming up to the first door, as you go to reach out to the door, Lumi erratically pulses, alerting you to extreme danger. Up close, the door is made of a strange dark amber and very smooth material, almost like hardened Malyup Tree syrup. There's no "handle" to speak off, but a zig zag groove.
{SPOILER}Should you try either door, they appeared to be locked. Or maybe just stuck because of being long without use. Back at the black Mariah... Peeeeeaaaarllll??? Fil seems both confused and frightened. It wa' them two ya mention. Don and Lor.... they don dry up'd da well, and toll me to dig up this odder spot, but ta get Pearl ta do et. I swears it, now geut this thang off me! |

I'm not sure how long this spell lasts. It should be a minute per level, but I'm not exactly sure what level this item is.

Fil blabbers a whole bunch, but you are confident in Jarek's guiding wisdom that he is tell the truth.
Lorah dun pay me, I just did wha thay said ta do. I don't huwanna get eat'un by no damn bug....
Lucy you return to the Black Mariah and here some noise coming from upstairs.
Alain, Donnie, and Lorah are nowhere to be found.
