Lucy's head perks up at the cry of cheating taking place. She jumps on top of the bar and shouts "Cheating is the way of the shadows...let me shed some light on the matter! And as she slams her staff down, a brilliant light fills the inn, bright as day itself. "Now what were these claims of cheating? Please illuminate us on what happened" The focal point of the light is Lumi, it seems as if she is causing this, not the staff...for those paying attention

{For Jarkes Eyes Only}Upon using your divine senses you note strong magic emanating from dagger. While magic is a neutral concept, the type of magic woven into the blade most likely is used for nefarious reasons.
You suspect the green object at the hilt is poison. Pearl's eyes light up at the crystal sand. She snaps her fingers. I've just the thing! She comes around the bar and quickly climbs the stairs up. She returns a few minutes later with something clutched in her hand. She steps behind the bar and then reveals a small glass vial on a brass linked chain. She opens it up and holds it on in front of you. You are able to pour a small portion of your sand into causing the vial to shimmer as if it were a crystal. She closes up the vial and places the necklace over her head. Thank you Jarkodon. This is a very thoughtful gift. She pulls out a pearl colored parchment, quill, and ink. She quickly writes on the parchment, signs it, rotates it so you can read it, then daggers it into place on the wall behind the bar. {Parchment}Ten free meals are permitted for Jarkodon.

Alain is slightly confused by all the things that are happening and just sits there sipping at his beer in response.

Jarke is equally happy at the thought of Pearl actually finding some kind of satisfaction in the gift as he is in the free meals. Unfortunately the only thing that prevents him from being too happy with himself is his pint-sized comrade's distraction of this handsome card player. Jarke was hoping to spend a bit more time studying the man before any sort of commotion. Jarke still attempts to figure out more about that dagger.

Never being one to intentionally draw attention to himself, Cade tries to scoot his chair slightly further away from Lucy, though is paying attention in case action is called for.

The handsome newcomer stands holding his hands up. Whoooah. Hold on here. I haven't been cheating, not at all. I admit, I'm a damn good card player, but just because I didn't tell you, doesn't make me a cheater. He takes a step back from the table. The other men at the table stand, hands on blades at their hips. Where do ya think yer going?! Stay right there, we'll get this sorted out.The men look over to the bar, shielding their eyes. Young lady, would you mind turning that thing, whatever it is, down a bit. Can't even see if Pearl's in the joint.Pearl walks from around the bar. Cheating is a hell of a claim we don't take to lightly around here gentlemen. Alain here can tell you well what can happen to people who don't take losing well. She looks over at Alain...
{Jarke}As you are focused on discerning on the dagger, you notice now, that the man has shifted it to be concealed completely, though its magic still glows for you.

Alain stands up from his stool. As he does so, he draws out his wand, spinning it casually in the air. It is made of sturdy wood, painted in black pitch. He looks to Pearl and nods slightly.
It would be wise to refrain from any improper conduct here, and to submit to whatever investigations will allow this matter to be resolved quickly, and definitively. He speaks loudly and clearly to the room.
He steps forward, alongside Pearl, and says, in a quieter tone: Lady Pearl, my apologies, for I travel simply, and have not such fine items to give as my friend here. In stead, I shall offer my services, and talents, so as to resolve any impropriety that may have besmirched your fine establishment. Hopefully services may take the place of goods?

"Alright Lumi you can tone it down, I think we got everyone's attention" As Lumi dims down to her normal luminescence, Lucy casts Light on her staff, just to make sure there is still something illuminating the scene of the potential cheating. "Madam Pearl if it wouldn't be too much of a presumption...I myself know little of the ways of cards but my friend Jarke knows the terminology and should be able to tell us if these accusations are based in truth or are the ramblings of a fool recently departed of his hard earned coin."

Jarke, upon hearing Lucy utter his name, stands. "So, before this gets out of control, let's see if we can figure this out like reasonable humanoids."

Pearl looks at all of you and nods her thanks then turns back to the men around the card table.
Now, everyone just take a breath and let's figure this out. Sir, I know those ruffians, but you are new to me. My name is on the sign out front, Pearl. Who exactly are you?
The handsome man lowers his hands and bows slightly.
Greetings, you may call me Donnie. I am man of my own means who fancies himself a lover of all things gambling. I came to the reputable Black Mariah thinking I'd find some worthy players in a game of cards. So far, I have been rather....
One of the mercenaries cuts him off.
He's a goddamn cheatin card shark is what he is Pearl!
Pearl holds up a hand, then clenches her fist while leveling the merc with an icy stare.
Being a card shark isn't the same as cheating Rory. While some might find it inconsiderate to not reveal one's capabilities, anyone entering a game here should know damn well they might face the very best in Arcanos.
The mercs grumble but don't really say much.
Thank you kind Lady - Donnie says with a wide smile.
That doesn't mean you didn't cheat Handsome. Now if you don't mind, my friends here are just going to check you out. Make sure you've no cards hidden up your sleeves. Literally or figuratively. Is there anything you'd like to let us know about beforehand?
Donnie frowns, but slowly shakes his head.

Lucy goes to investigate the stranger for any cards etc. "Come Jarke, Alain and Fox, Pearl has need of your senses to determine the veracity of these claims."

Jarke starts going through the motions to help with the investigation, but is more interested in what the female's reaction to this man getting the business will be. Perception Roll on the female

Specifically Jarke is trying not to make it apparent that he is looking more at the female. He puts himself in a good spot to see where he could see her in the periphery while acting like he is just interested in the pat-down of this handsome rogue. If he swings his head and sees her staring, he will continue the motion casually as to not stare.

Donnie let's Lucy and Fox search him, while Alain holds everyone in check with a menacing wand filled with deathly promises.
Jarke, the blonde woman at bar is watching things play at like other bystanders, but nothing sticks out. She seems oblivious to those not directly involved.
Donnie has typical adventurers items, most of which are in a pack he left at his feet. What are you looking for and what do you put out in the open?
