Surprise RoundAlain's spell rips past Rory's head. Dodging the black bolt cost him accuracy on his strike against Donnie. Donnie stumbles backwards avoiding a swipe from the merc leader. Everyone else leaps into action! {Insight into Donnie - Everyone except Fox}Donnie seems overly worried about Lumi revealing his locket. There must be something more to it than he saying.

Lucy holds her staff before her and with great confidence speaks, directing magical energies at Rory "You have made an error. Leave, rethink your actions and live in The Light" She releases the energy from his words, hoping he is convinced to do as she says and she again speaks to her companions, "If he leaves let him go, he will do us no further harm this day." {Out of Game Spoiler}
Lucy cast Suggestion on him. He must make a wisdom saving throw DC = 13. |

Rory seems to reevaluate the situation.
Bah, let's just be done with this place, best to leave and get on down the road while its still LIGHT out.
The two men behind him release their grips from their weapons. They look over at the huge bear-man and the giant dragon-man and decide leaving might be the best option.

Alain, observing that the mercenaries are giving up, takes no further immediate attacks. However, he once again readies a Chill Touch, incase someone attempts to attack his compatriots, or if Donnie tries to escape before his locket has been revealed. He is very obviously a wizard readying a spell.

Jarke maintains his same demeanor as the men leave the establishment. As he raises his hammer to rest on his shoulder, he anticipates that the situation is done escalating as Donnie is now severely outnumbered if he tries anything.
"So Donnie, what's the real deal?"

His charismatic swagger is replaced by a firm tone.
Pearl steps forward.
Alright, let's just calm down. Donnie, sorry about those men. Take a seat, grab some food and drink, and we can sort this out. If you are as good as you say you are, come nightfall, I am sure you'll find yourself in a solid game.
She eyes each of the party as she continues.
Thank you for your help. Will at least one of you show this man some hospitality. Careful though, apparently he's very talented at cards.

Lucy shies her eyes away from Pearl, abashed at some of her recent actions. She turns and orders a drink for herself and Donnie. She brings the drinks over to Donnie and says, "Sorry about that but you know how it is, need to find the truth, and stop cheaters." She leans in to clink glasses and whispers, "Your secrets can remain yours but know that I know you are hiding something from us. If it is more than a card cheat perhaps I can share your burden" She clinks glasses and takes a sip of her drink.

Alain withdraws his spell, pockets his wand, and goes back over to his place at the bar, where he orders another plate of food and some mild ale. He keeps an eye on Lucy and Donnie while he does so, in case anything happens that might requires his renewed attention.

Seeming very comfortable in his bear form, having been a while since he fully shifted, Fox wanders over to the corner of the room, if it is un-occupied and curls up for a quick bear-nap. After 1 hour, or if something interesting happens, he returns to human form and takes his seat at the bar again.
